James Edward Skiles

He served in the U.S. Air Force for 8 years and was a member of American Legion Kapperman Post 44 and the VFW. After his discharge from the service, he spent the rest of his career working for various construction companies. He loved spending time with his family and going out to eat.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Litten) Skiles; and his father.

He is survived by his children, Trish Rumble (Paul), Sandy Barnes (Danny); sister, Dee Metz (Denny); 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; mother, Gwendolyn Skiles; and other family members.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to ALL the staff of Golden Living Center-Woodlands in Newburgh; also, Dr. Sash; Lacey, NP; and the Heart to Heart Hospice staff.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, January 22, 2018, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Mike Claypool with Military Honors performed by American Legion Kapperman Post 44. Burial will in Rose Hill Cemetery be at a later date. Friends may visit 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the veterans’ assistance program of your choice or Alzheimer’s Association.
