He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara (Huff) Tolley; as well as sons, Mike (Jill) Tolley of Newburgh and Jason (Demetra) Tolley of Haubstadt; and a daughter, Heather (Brian) Dame of Evansville. Grandchildren include Caleb and Hannah Tolley of Newburgh, Eislin and Ava Tolley of Haubstadt, and Carter and Ella Dame of Evansville. Other survivors include siblings, Joyce Ricketts of Evansville, Alan Tolley of Newburgh, Sheryl (Peter) Froehle of Newburgh, and Patti (Jeff) Crane of Evansville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was a 1960 Graduate of North High School in Evansville and became a Lance Corporal of the U.S. Marine Corps. As owner of Jim Tolley Homes, Inc. he was very well respected in the homebuilding community. For over 54 years, his company built numerous award-winning custom homes in the Evansville and Newburgh area, many of which were awarded Parade-of-Home titles throughout the years. Jim loved sports and was an avid baseball enthusiast volunteering countless hours, over the years, coaching Newburgh youth baseball. In recent years he could often be found watching his grandkids’ many sporting events. Jim attended Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh and was always willing to lend a hand and contribute to his family, church and community.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Rev. Mike Claypool with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
