

James “Jim” E. Willis, 77, of Newburgh, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville. He was born January 8, 1948 in Evansville to the late Ellis Willis and Laura (Goodall) Willis Penrod.
He is leaving behind a legacy of compassion and quiet strength that touched countless lives. Jim graduated from Central High School in 1967 and was drafted into the US Army in March 1968. After completing basic training, he was transferred to Fort Hood, TX. He was a laborer for Local 561 for many years, as well as IATSE Local 102 Stagehands. Jim loved international travel with his wife. His favorite destination was Hawaii with Kauai being his favorite island. He also loved his Corvettes and El Camino.
Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Choate.
Surviving him are his wife of 52 years, Karin Willis; beloved dog, Lola Mae; brother, Terry Willis (Debbie), and his most loved nieces and nephews, Brandon Willis (Jennifer), Greg Willis, Nick Willis (Janessa) and Stephanie Bright (Matt).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wendy and Paula, RN Nurses at Select Specialty Hospital who looked after him and kept him comfortable during this difficult time.
