Jean Veach-Woerz

Jean was born on July 31, 1938 to Ed and Monda Lockyear. She retired as a teacher’s aide from Sharon Elementary School working with special needs children. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and going camping. She was a lifelong member of Townsend Bible Church in Newburgh, IN.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Charles E. Veach; her brother, Harold (Hal) Lockyear; daughter, Joanne Veach, and her grandson, Sean Detty.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Woerz of Evansville, IN; daughters, Betty (Norm) Carreaux of Wasilla, AK, Melinda (Drew) Daniel of Denton, TX; son, Daniel Veach of Pueblo, Co; granddaughters, Melissa (Ray) Braguglia, Niki (Drew) McKeethen, Randalynn (Logan) Boyd, Breanna Brown, Teagan, Emerson, Brynn Daniel, Makayla Veach, Ashley Etheridge; grandsons, Christopher Carreaux, Michael (Kelsey) Carreaux, Bailey Veach, Nathan Golday, Jack Veach, John Veach, Kyle (Misty) Veach and Kevin Veach; great-grandchildren, Austin, Aurora, Dallas Carreaux, Riley Carreaux, Raina Golday, Carson McKeethen, Rogan Boyd, Emma and Ezra Brown, Dana, Peyton, Brandon, Braxton, Lexxi, and Alixx Veach, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Alexander Funeral Home Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, followed by a Graveside Service at Park Lawn Cemetery at noon, and a Celebration of Life held following the graveside service at Townsend Bible Church, 2418 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
