

Jeanne had the opportunity to say goodbye to all her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, caretakers and friends before she reunited with her parents and husband. She told everyone what their jobs were when she passed. She got the opportunity to share stories of her childhood and tell stories of her dolls so that the history of the family would go on.
Jeanne was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 23, 1927. She graduated from Stephens College. She then went on to Ohio University where she met her husband, William “Bill” Snyder. At Ohio University was a member of Phi Mu Delta Delta chapter. Jeanne and Bill married December 9, 1950 in Zanesville, Ohio, the day the town caught on fire. They left for their honeymoon driving their car down the railroad tracks to avoid the fire everyone was fighting in their tuxedos.
Jeanne was a Girl Scout (25 years) leader for three Girl Scout troops at one time. She took the girls, camping, caving, hiking, and many other opportunities. Later on in life Jeanne helped her daughter with several Cub Scout dens that her grandsons were in. Jeanne worked at the Methodist Temple Day Care as head teacher for many years; she also worked at Royal Day Care and a Small World Day Care.
Jeanne also worked with her husband at Snyder Buick in the 80’s before he sold the business. She started substitute teaching at EVSC and the Warrick County School Corporation after that. Jeanne has affected the lives of many children who all loved her.
Jeanne, started collecting dolls when she was a small child, the collection had grown to almost 2000 by the time of her departure from this world. Jeanne shared her dolls with the kids at the schools, at churches, and Pioneer days in Warrick County. Jeanne belonged to the United Federation of Doll Clubs and attended many conferences with them displaying her dolls. Jeanne also belonged to the Doll Club in South West Indiana. She served as officer for the club for many years. She enjoyed putting on doll presentations with them, and doll shows that were open to the public. Jeanne won many awards with her dolls.
Jeanne and Bill belonged to the Rolling Hills Country Club where they set up many dances and parties for the club members. Decorating and planning was so much fun for Jeanne.
Jeanne also served on the Board of Directors for the Warrick County Museum, where she set up displays, planned fund raisers, and was proud to show people around the museum. She often helped decorate the Reitz Home Museum at Christmas time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Wilson Cole; her husband, William Snyder; her granddaughter, Brietta Butze Stafford; and her grandsons-in-law, Jonathan Liley and David Stafford.
Jeanne will be missed by many, especially her daughters, Karan Wilson (Brent), Candace Nance (Ed), and Sandra Snyder; grandchildren, Mika Berry (Jon), Cole Mosby (Michelle), Jordan Mosby, Whitney Richardson (Clark); great grandchildren, Winona, Simon, Alixandria, Jonah, Jayden, Natalie, Jonathan, Michael, William, Justis, Aunika and Archer; great great grandchildren, Kizzy and Jonathan; best friend, Rhoda Wade; her caretakers, Susan Barnett, Sharon Higgs, and Tracy Dale; and her loving dog that stayed by her side, Betsy.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. Holly Rankin Zaher, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
