

Jerome “Jerry” Joe Meser, 81, of Newburgh, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital. He was born October 19, 1932, in Evansville, to the late John and Eleanora (Barnett) Meser.
He was a proud Navy Veteran and attended Maranatha Baptist Church. He retired from the Maintenance Department at Dana Corporation in 1999 after 27 years of employment. He was a member of VFW Post #1114 and his hobbies included painting, gardening, woodworking and fixing things. He enjoyed taking automobile drives and he never met a stranger. He always made people feel important and enjoyed telling life lessons.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and Midge Meser.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Patty (Bilderback) Meser; daughters, Sharon (Hoyt) Heacock and Donna Crouch; grandchildren, Lindy (David) Lair, all of Newburgh, Jared Heacock of St. Louis, MO, Joseph Crouch of the US Navy, Jacksonville, FL and Shawn Crouch of Newburgh; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Ashlynn, Tori and Noah; sister, Delores King; nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Jackie (Pete) Campbell of Indianapolis and Angie (Aaron) Pearson of Boonville; step-sons, Don (Glenda) McPherson, Gene (Kim) Graham and Cody Hall, all of Alabama; and several step-grand and great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Curtis Hall, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maranatha Baptist Church.
