

She married Alvie Norman, Jr., on November 27, 1982, and they were married for 37 years. Jo Ann worked in the billing department at St. Mary’s Hospital for several years. She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church for many years where she was a Sunday school teacher and was also a member of Robert Morris #87 Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and traveling to Puerto Rico when her husband worked there.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Norman, Jr.; step-son, Alvie Norman, III; siblings, LaVeda O’Brien, Betty Koone, Jeanie Knopp, Larry Knopp and Raymond Knopp.
She is survived by her brother, Harry Knopp (Grace); step-daughter, Karen Knapp (Jim); step-son, Ray Norman (Joy); 7 step-grandchildren, Jerry Parks, Jennifer Courtney (Mike), Jeffery McGinnis (April), Terra Norman, Scott Norman, Lori Blair (Josh), and Adam Norman (Lacey); 17 step-great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews and other extended family in West Virginia.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hamilton Pointe for the care and compassion you gave Jo Ann.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. Dr. Larry T. Lewis, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
