A lifelong fan of sports, John especially enjoyed cheering for the Chicago Cubs, Indiana University, and the Chicago Bears. His love for the arts led him to the stage, where he performed in numerous local theatre productions at the University of Evansville, Evansville Civic Theatre, Lincoln Amphitheater and T.N.T. Theatre.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joette (Johnston) Hodgen; his daughters, Nikki Hodgen of Evansville and Molly Hodgen of Newburgh; his cherished grandchildren, Colin Hodgen and Cade Hodgen; his sister, Mary Zoe Hughes (Arley) of Maricopa, AZ; his brother, David Hodgen (Linda) of Jamestown, TN; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In accordance with John’s wishes, no public services will be held.
