Joseph G. Murray

Joseph G. Murray, 85, of Newburgh, IN, passed away peacefully Monday, October 20, 2014, at Hamilton Pointe, with his wife by his side. He was born August 9, 1929, in Bar Harbor, ME to the late James and Isabelle Murray.

He was a member of East Side Optimist Club, ASHRAE, and Rolling Hills Country Club. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He enjoyed golf with friends, boating, traveling the U.S. with Joan, and spending time with family.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Charles and James.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan; sons, Steve (Lisa) Murray of Houston, TX, Alan (Sandy) Murray of New York, NY; daughter, Janet Murray (Peter) Costigan of Los Gatos, CA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Teresa Ferrari, Roslie Dorman; sister-in-law, Norma Murray; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the skilled nursing staff at Hamilton Pointe and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care of Joe.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Acadia National Park.
