She is survived by her son, Nicholas Allen (father Jeff Martin); parents, Donald and Bonnie Alms; brother, Tony Alms (Veronica); sister, Beth Goines (Monty); uncles and aunts, John and Nydia Norman; Larry Alms; Ed and Valerie Alms; Dan and Judi Hahn; and Mike Alms; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Edna Alms; Marvin and Wanda Knoll; uncle, Jimmy Alms; and aunts, Karen Alms and Pat Alms.
She enjoyed reading, loved spending time with her family, vacationing at Panama City Beach, and watching the Indianapolis Colts with her son.
Karen had worked at Ace Hardware as the bookkeeper.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Friends may visit Saturday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM and Sunday from Noon until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made at any Old National Bank to the Nicholas Martin College Fund.
