Lawrence "Larry" Coffman
June 3, 1942 – November 22, 2018
Lawrence “Larry” Coffman, 76, was born June 3, 1942 to LW (Bud) and Mary Jane Coffman. He went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2018.
Larry worked his way from being an adjuster to a VP of consumer loan finance for Citizens Bank where he worked for 25 years. He retired as an indirect auto finance sales manager for Chase Bank. In these roles, he served as a friend and mentor to many aspiring bankers.
He was a graduate of North High School and attended UofE.
Larry was an avid golfer and played for North High Schools’ golf team and for the US Navy’s Great Lakes golf team. He served his country in the U.S Navy as a Corpsman.
He served on numerous boards for nonprofits including the Red Cross and Consumer Credit Counseling Service. He was avid fan and supporter of Indiana University.
Larry was a past member of Shepard of the Hills Lutheran and currently attended Redeemer Lutheran. At Shepard of the Hills, he was an active youth leader and served in various leadership roles. He was a former member of the Hadi Shrine and served as part of the hospital corps.
He is survived by his wife, Charmain and son, Michael and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and in-laws. Larry was a loving husband and father who will be genuinely missed by his family and many friends and colleagues.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tom Wenig, with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
