

Margaret Rose Dyson, 87, of Sellersburg, Indiana, formerly of Newburgh, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026. She was born April 2, 1939 in Evansville to the late Victor and Valeria (Bosecker) Goebel.
Margaret was a devoted member of Newburgh United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. She graduated from Henry Ford Community College in Michigan and worked in banking before retiring to raise her family. She was actively involved in the Newburgh United Methodist Women’s Circle, Bible study, Vacation Bible School, and prayer group. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.
She found great joy in crafting, quilting, sewing, and playing Euchre with many groups of friends. One of her greatest talents and proudest accomplishments was sewing her girls' bridal and bridesmaid gowns. Her exceptional skill earned her an award, and her work was featured in newspaper articles recognizing her craftsmanship.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Mary Lou Christy (Kevin) of Carmi, IL, Linda Mayfield (Harry) of Memphis, IN and Pam Wilson (Greg) of Sellersburg, IN; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Goebel (Elaine) of Evansville and Norman Goebel (Jeri) of Michigan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Arthur Raymond Dyson Jr., and infant brother, Leslie Goebel.
A Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. Chris Neikirk, with final resting place in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ cemetery. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
