Mark was an Eagle Scout and an avid outdoorsman, especially passionate about deer hunting. He worked for many years as a finance manager, including at Audubon Chrysler in Henderson, KY. A dedicated sports enthusiast, he was a loyal fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, and St. Louis Cardinals. He loved attending games and watching them on TV.
In his younger years, Mark enjoyed golfing and played in a local baseball league as a young adult. He also played football during high school. A proud graduate of Castle High School, Class of 1976, Mark was known for his outgoing personality and ability to make friends wherever he went. He deeply loved his family and friends and cherished camping trips during his earlier years.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Amy Brown; his children, Sean (Shelby) Horning of Indianapolis, IN, Phillip "Drew" Horning, Alec (Sarah) Brown, and Molly (Colt Early) Brown, all of Newburgh, IN; his sister, Martha (Tim) Sullivan of Bloomington, IN; and his very special aunt, Verge “Easy” of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Diane (Tim) Triplett of New Orleans, LA; brothers-in-law, Don (Karen) Gore and Chris (Nancy) Gore, both of Newburgh, IN; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday, July 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. His final resting place will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, Indiana.
