

She was a self-employed upholsterer, owning a business in Momence, IL and Newburgh, IN. While in Momence, she was also a book buyer for the Baker and Taylor Company. She loved sewing and was a member of the Raintree Quilters’ Guild. Mary was very creative; she was a self-taught artist and a member of Newburgh’s Rivertown Chapter of Artists. She enjoyed researching genealogy. She was a member of Yankeetown United Methodist Church where she was their treasurer and pianist.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus McLean, Jr. (2005); parents, Charles and Jessie Lott; son, William Paul “Skip” McLean (2013); three grandchildren; brother, Henry Lott; and sisters, Joyce Owens and Helen McCormick.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Amdor, Laura Daugherty (Phillip), Jeanne Murphy (Gene 2009); daughter-in-law, Pat McLean; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
Funeral Services were held 10:30 AM, Monday, August 17, 2015, at Yankeetown United Methodist Church, 7399 Yankeetown Road, Newburgh, IN, officiated by Rev. J.D. Boyer with burial at Bates Hill Cemetery in Yankeetown. Friends visited Sunday, 2-6 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN, and 9:30 AM until service time at the church on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Yankeetown United Methodist Church.
