Merle E. Enlow

Merle E. Enlow, 90, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born September 2, 1935, in Mapes, ND, to Fred and Eloise Enlow. Merle lived a life marked by steadfast dedication to his family, his country, his work, and his community. He will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who knew him.

Merle proudly served in the United States Army. He then attended the University of North Dakota, through the GI Bill, where he earned a business degree. His education provided a strong foundation for a long and successful career built on responsibility, hard work, and lasting relationships.

After college, Merle began his 36-year career as a sales representative for Lehigh Portland Cement Company. Throughout his years with the company, he was known for his dependability, dedication, and genuine commitment to his work. He retired after a long and meaningful career.

Merle also believed in giving back to his community. In 1970, he served as Commissioner of the Newburgh Little League, where he supported young athletes and helped create opportunities for children to learn, compete, and enjoy the game. His involvement reflected the same sense of commitment and responsibility that he brought to every part of his life.

Merle married his loving wife, Pam Enlow, and together they built a beautiful family with their two sons, Ryan and Kyle. Family was an important part of Merle's life, and he took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

An avid horse racing fan, Merle also had a deep love for the outdoors and hunting. He enjoyed the traditions, open spaces, and time in nature that brought him so much happiness throughout his life.

Merle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pam Enlow; his parents, Fred and Eloise Enlow; and his siblings, Edgar Enlow, Jim Enlow, Bob Enlow, and Marie Corsmo.

He is survived by his sons, Ryan (Julie) Enlow and Kyle (Julia) Enlow; grandchildren, Sam Enlow, Jack Enlow, and Kelsey Enlow (Dominic Walker); siblings, Eunice (Al) Kimball and Michael Enlow; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.

Merle's life was one of dedication, service, family, and friendship. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love for his family, and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA. Burial will follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
