Leon was the kindest man to all of us Job Corps partners. When we were playing ball years and years ago, I said to Leon, "Leon can you teach me how to play ball?" He said "Annie, theirs not enough time on this earth for me to teach you how to play." He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Sue,
I'm truly sorry for your loss.
I will truly miss Leon. I will miss the stories about the days Leon played baseball. The stories of the players he played with, the stories of him and Dave Mulane, and their miss adventurers. It stills brings a smile to my face!
The story that Dan Hall tells of seeing Leon cutting grass in 90 degree heat, That was Leon giving me a break from the heat!
Sue,when I had my health problems, Leon would come by my house and ask to cut my yard!
Sue, he loved to brag about all that you did as a nurse ! And Leon love to talk about all the accomplishments of Noel, Phillip, and Allison!
Once again I will truly miss Leon! !!

Our family is so saddened to hear of Leon’s passing. Our 9 year old daughter called him her best friend. Their friendship was so genuine and Leon was always so kind to her. It was the sweetest friendship anyone could ever have. Leon always called our son Little Jon. Our family will miss Leon but I know for our daughter, the loss will be deeper. Rest In Peace and thank you for the kindness you showed our family, especially our daughter.

Sue, believe me, so many of us share your loss. Leon was as fastidious about the Clements lawns as he was about your home lawn.
It would be 90+ degrees out and our Recreation Manager would be out there mowing, WEARING A TIE.
I truly loved and respected Leon so much!!

My condolences Sue to you and all your family.
I want you to know that Leon was loved by many. He and I had lot’s fun playing golf and talking. We were both from Alabama.
Back then we had a true Job Corps staff family who loved and cared for each other.
I never ever heard anyone say anything negative or bad about this man.
I could go on and on but I will say this, one of his proudest moment was when Phillip went to the University of Alabama.
We didn’t see each other much in recent years, but I am going to miss my friend.
