

He was born on October 7, 1934, in Cache, Illinois, to Marvin and Margaret Fern (Hill) Wilson. He married Ruth Truelove on Sunday, October 9, 1955, at the United Methodist Church in Loogootee, Indiana.
Ralph graduated from Loogootee High School in 1954. He began his career with the Federal Service in the General Accounting Office at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1954. He retired from the Federal Service with the US Army Reserve as a Unit Administrator with the 300th Military Police Prisoner of War Command after more than 35 years of service. Ralph reached the rank of Command Sargent Major in the United States Army Reserve, highest non-commissioned soldier, with the 604th Military Police Battalion. Awards include the United States Army Meritorious Service Medal given in 1988 and 1996 (First Oak Leaf Cluster); The Commander’s Award for Civilian Service; The Army Achievement Medal; The Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jasper, Indiana. He enjoyed traveling the United States and the world with his wife Ruth, tomato gardening and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren Ashley and Jacob; and great granddaughter Abriana.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William “Billy” Wilson and sister Anna Fern Huls.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Ruth; son, Ralph Willis Wilson II of Bloomington, Indiana; daughter, Vicki Lynn Stuffle and son-in-law, Gary Stuffle of Odon, Indiana; granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Saladin (Robert) and great-granddaughter, Abriana Ruth of Newburgh, Indiana; grandson, Jacob Dwenger (mother Pat Dwenger) of Lafayette, Indiana; and sister, Virginia Eichmiller of Jasper, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Jasper, Indiana. Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
