Ray Brandl

Ray Brandl, 84, of Newburgh, IN, formerly of Neenah, WI, passed away at his home May 15, 2018. He was born in Wausau, WI on May 2, 1934 to the late Raymond and Hildegard Brandl.
He served as a Tank Commander in the U.S. Army. Ray was a member of the Evansville Songfellows, Knights of Columbus, and Boonville Country Club. He was a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. Ray was involved in many organizations and charities. He was most fond of the Special Olympics in which his son, Brian, competed both in state and national competitions. He enjoyed a long career at the Menasha Corporation in Neenah, WI before he relocated to Evansville, IN where he enjoyed a career in real estate and was a member of the National Realtor’s Association.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Eleanor M. “Ellie” Brandl; infant son, Timothy; and brother-in-law, “Smitty.”
He is survived by daughters, Amy Clifford (Bill), Lori Whittle (Don); sons, Chris Brandl (Mary Beth), Brian Brandl; grandchildren, Olivia Helander, Nick Helander, John Whittle, Jacqueline Whittle, Ryan Brandl, Stephanie Brandl; sister, Blanche Smith; and brother, Jerry Brandl. He was expecting his first great-granddaughter in August.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:00 AM, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church officiated by Fr. John Pfister with burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit 4-7 PM on Friday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Fund.
