Robert "Bob" W. Spohr

Robert “Bob” W. Spohr, 65, of Boonville, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.
He grew up in Ossining, NY. Bob graduated from Vanderbilt Medical School and earned a Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia. He held an academic position at University of Florida, Gainesville. Bob had a private practice for 20 years at Tulsa Anesthesiologists, Inc. in Tulsa, OK. He practiced in Evansville for 14 years as an anesthesiologist for Deaconess. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Bob was an avid dog breeder for 40 years, receiving highest honors for numerous bullmastiffs. He enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife and family. He instilled a love of cooking in his daughter, Heather, who became a chef.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth E. (Coon) Kipp.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lynn; daughter, Heather Marie Wiarda (Brandon) of Amery, WI; sisters-in-law, Virginia Provencher of Nashville, TN and Annamarie Schalk (Rick) of Niles, IL; and a granddaughter due in November, 2014.
Services will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, June 21, 2014, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 301 Southeast 1st Street, Evansville, officiated by Rev. Dr. Richard Godbold, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh. Friends may visit Friday, 4-7 PM, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center, 610 E. Walnut Street, Evansville, IN 47713.
