

He retired after 42 years of service as Director of Recreation at the Evansville State Hospital. He graduated from University of Evansville and received his Masters Degree from Indiana State University. While at U of E, he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He played football all 4 years and baseball for 2 years. After college, he was an Assistant Football Coach at the university for many years and was inducted in to the U of E Football Hall of Fame in 1981. Bob was a member of the Tri-State Hot Stove League and was past President of the Quarterback Club. His hobbies included Pickleball, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears play and going to yard sales. He was a founding member of the Brew Crew and FNCC. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cathy Glaser of Newburgh; son, Bob Glaser (Debbie) of Palatine, IL; daughters, Jill Howell (Dan) of Newburgh, Beth Skiersch (Jay) of Park Ridge, IL; grandchildren, Robbie and Billy Glaser, Kassidy, Kane and Kyle Howell, Lila and Sadie Skiersch; sister, Judy Miller (Tom); brother, Doug Glaser; mother-in-law, Mary Powell; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Fr. Henry Kuykendall. Friends may visit Wednesday, 2-8 PM and Thursday, 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
