

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, James Lewis Lenn and Minnie Fuquay Lenn; sisters, Virginia Buzzingham and Grace Lawrence; and brothers, Theodore, Elial, Loyd and Claude. Earlier members of the Lenn family were among the initial settlers of Southern Indiana, and until recently members of the Lenn family continued to live on the original land grant.
Roger married Mary Marjorie Turbett in 1946 and had three daughters; Gail Dantzker of McAllen, TX, Susan Hunter of Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Dana Rundle of Edmond, OK. Roger has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He served in the Army in Africa during World War II where he was among a small group of soldiers who surveyed the land, drained swamps to help control malaria, and were among the first to use several newly discovered chemical controls to manage not only malaria, but also plague and cholera among both soldiers and the native population.
He was a member of Newburgh United Methodist Church in Newburgh where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for a number of years. He also enjoyed fishing and boating on Barkley Lake in Kentucky, and enjoyed traveling around the United States by RV after his retirement from George Koch Sons in Evansville, IN. Roger raised St. Bernard dogs and enjoyed gardening and growing strawberries. He was an avid fan of the U of E Purple Aces basketball team.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 22, 2013, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Chris Nunley, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler. Friends may visit on Sunday, 2-6 PM, at the funeral home.
