

Ronald D. McWilliams, 76, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital. He was born November 5, 1938, in Charleston, IL to the late Delmer and Maxine McWilliams.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ron was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, American Legion Kapperman Post #44, and Newburgh Jaycees. He enjoyed youth baseball serving 42 years in Newburgh Youth Baseball. He served 34 years with American Legion Kapperman Post #44 Baseball Team. Ron was also active in Newburgh Junior Baseball, Babe Ruth, Teener League Baseball and the traveling baseball teams. He retired from Hydraulic Jack.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; his parents; son, Larry Wayne McWilliams; and daughter, Beth Jamison.
He is survived by son, Greg McWilliams (Diana) of Newburgh; foster daughter, Mary Chase (Scott); grandchildren, Nick Burton, David McWilliams (Katrina), Doug McWilliams, Jennifer Hodges (Evan); 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry McWilliams (Shirley) of Newburgh, Steve McWilliams (Marlene) of Missouri; sisters, Kay Ault (Ken) of Illinois, Candy McWilliams of Missouri, Jody Jennemann (John) of Missouri and Cathy Beffa (John) of Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and step-mother, Peggy McWilliams of Missouri.
Services were held 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Rev. Dan Kennedy with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends visited 4-8 PM on Friday and 12:00 PM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
