

Ruth was a Charter Member of St. John’s UCC-East, where she had been a Council Member, Sunday School Teacher, and sat on many committees and sang in the choir for over 30 years.
She worked from 1948-1954 for Phillips Petroleum as a secretary; 1968-1970 at St. John’s UCC East Pre-School as a teacher; 1974-1985 worked for her brother, Clyde W. Parker, DDS, as a financial secretary and dental assistant; 1996-2009 at Alexander Funeral Homes as a receptionist. Her family and faith were very important to her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Lehmkuhl in 2010; brothers, Clyde Parker, Bud (Jeanette) Parker, and sister-in-law, Betty Uebler.
She is survived by her husband, Dane Dougan of Holland, IN; daughters, Shari Reed and Gayle (Mike) Waters all of Evansville; son, Charles C. Lehmkuhl, Jr. of Woodridge, IL; grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Lehmkuhl of Oklahoma City, OK, Katie Lehmkuhl of Indianapolis, Mary (Grant) Lutz of Lafayette, IN, Joseph Wambach of Indianapolis, Scott (Rachel) Wambach of Evansville, Megan (Jason) Cutrell of Evansville and Sydney Reed of Evansville; great grandchildren, Alecia, Mia, Maxen, Kiah, and Jackson; sister-in-law, Nina Lee Parker of Evansville; three nieces; one nephew; stepchildren, Gary (Jan) Dougan of Holland, IN and Bruce Dougan of San Diego, CA.
Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at St. John’s UCC-East, 7000 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Rev. Ken Townsend, with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261 and Tuesday from 10:00 until service time at the church.
