Sandra Sue Cupp (Crook) Grammy to all, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Newburgh, Indiana. Born on January 13, 1946, in Rockport, Indiana, Sandra lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to her family.
Sandra dedicated her life to caring for others as a homemaker and had a certification as a surgical technician. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family—she was the heart of her family and a constant source of support and joy to those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: son, Jerry Jones and his wife, along with their children Katie and Cierra, and great-granddaughter Bri, with whom Sandra lived and lovingly cared for; son, Jeff Jones and his children Jarod and Sophia; son, Jon Jones and his wife and their children Tyler and Brittany; daughter, Tami Stanton (Cupp) and her husband and her children Cole and Kyli; daughter, Lorie Stephens (Cupp) and her husband and her children Trever, Brookelynn, and Logan; and son, Chad Cupp and his wife and children Morgan, Chase, and Colton. Sandra also cherished numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought additional joy into her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Pauline Crook; brothers, Robert (Bob) Risse, Ronald (Ronnie) Risse, Roger Risse, Michael Crook; and sisters, Patricia Burdin (Crook) and Hazel Crook.
Sandra had a zest for life that shone through in everything she did. She found joy in painting, crafting, gardening, searching for arrowheads, or simply walking through the woods. A collector at heart, she especially loved owls—which adorned many corners of her home. Sandra's favorite color was yellow—a reflection of the warmth she radiated—and she wore it often.
Family game nights were a treasured tradition where Sandra’s playful spirit came alive. She loved playing cards with her family, teasing them with good-natured humor that made everyone laugh. Though shy at first, when celebrating with family at events, like karaoke, going out dancing at an Oldies Sock Hop on the riverfront she would light up the rooms--becoming the life of the party.
Her creativity knew no bounds—her crafts were admired by all who saw them—and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special. Sandra's love was unconditional; she would do anything for those she held dear.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the family property at Cypress Creek located at 6144 West State Route 66 in Newburgh, Indiana 47630.
