Sara “Meemo” Jane Cox, 67, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Deaconess VNA Charlier Hospice Center. She was born December 12, 1946, in West Chicago, IL, to the late Lee and Alida Adamson.
She retired after 35 years as a nursing supervisor at Evansville State Hospital. She was co-founder of Greyhound Pets of America, Tri-State, and she volunteered at Deaconess Hospice.
Sara is survived by her son, Marcus (Sarah) Cox; daughter, Megan Nehls; grandsons, Daymon Weller, Aaron Nehls, and Zachary Cox; granddaughter, Addison Cox, all of Newburgh; brother, Michael Adamson; and also survived by Ronald Cox.
Memorial Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Claypool. Friends may visit Sunday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
