Stella B Raymond

Stella B. (Hert) Raymond, 88, of Newburgh, left her temporary home and moved to her eternal abode on January 3, 2011. She was born on August 25, 1922, in McHenry, KY to Myrtle and Nola Hert. She married Cecil Raymond, Sr. on July 4, 1941 in McHenry. She is survived by her son, Cecil (Patrice) Raymond; three granddaughters, Allison (Dave) Novak, Andrea (Ryan) McKinney, and Alisa (Randy) Knapp; seven great-grandchildren of Newburgh; and sister, Barbara Ann Moffett of Evansville.

Stella was an avid fan of gospel music, especially quartet style, and particularly bass singing. She will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her deep faith in God.

The family would like to express appreciation to the Woodland Golden Living Center for the care she received while living there the last ten years. Dr. Allen, Dr. Sloan, and Dr. Adye have given excellent care over the years.

Services will be 1 PM, Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Charles Sommers with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit 11 AM to service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pentecostal Prayer Center, 1331 W. Michigan Street, Evansville, IN 47710, where she was a member for 58 years, or a charity of your choice.
