

Steven Wayne Winchester, 72, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away at Envive Healthcare on Monday, September 29, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1953, the fifth of five boys born to his parents, Earnie Carl Winchester and Edna Fern Winchester.
Steve graduated from Boonville High School in 1971. He had been self employed after owning several businesses including a liquor store and a lock shop. Most recently he did home remodeling before retiring.
Steve is survived by two brothers, Edward Winchester (Jan) of Newburgh, and Kenneth (Sherry) Winchester, of Chandler; a sister-in-law, Pat Winchester, of Newburgh; daughter, Leisa (Keenan) Hape; granddaughters, Bailey and Camryn Hape; grandson, Jase Hape, all of Evansville, and many nieces and nephews; and by girlfriend, Monique Beasley, also of Evansville.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Donald Winchester and Robert Winchester; and also by a grand daughter, Madison Hape.
The family would like to thank Envive Healthcare for their compassionate care of Steve during the time he was there and also Gentiva Hospice during his last hours.
The family is also deeply appreciative of the devoted care of Steve by his nephew, Keith Winchester, in the final years of his life.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Alexander Funeral Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261 with funeral services, officiated by Pastor Rick Riley, immediately following. Interment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum in Evansville, Indiana.
