

After graduating from Butler County High School in 1959, she moved to Evansville, Indiana. Her first job was at Wood's as a waitress where she made 25 cents per hour. Several years later she worked at Central Industries where she met and married her sweetheart, William "Bill" Dickerson in 1976. Sue obtained her dietary management certification and went to work in long-term care facilities. She enjoyed talking with residents and strived to provide compassionate care. Sue was a hard worker and was known to work multiple jobs to provide for her family.
Sue attended Living Word Church in Newburgh and set an example of love by serving in the meal basket ministry. She enjoyed reading her Bible every day, gardening, word puzzles, attending her grands sporting events, and Tuesday lunch dates with her daughter. She also was an avid Vince Gill fan and loved attending his concerts in Nashville.
Family and friends will remember Sue as one who always took the time to listen and to offer advice no matter how difficult the situation. She was a devoted mother and Grammy, leaving a legacy of kindness and a reminder to always do the right thing.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children Rhonda Broerman (Tony), Brenda Fox, Mark Nixon (Vickie) and Nichole Baldwin (Ben). She was the proud grandmother of Cheyenne (Toby), Benjamin (Meagan), Jacob (Robin), Matthew (Karly), Daniel, Justin, Markus, Kaylee (Tyler), Kaden (Rachel), Devin, Kevin, Nikki Jo (Cody). Great grandchildren include Jarred, Mason, Elijah, Lane, Emmie, Easton, Elise, Zachary, Alex, Hannah, Ellie, Lila, Enzo and Garrett with two new babies due this summer. Surviving siblings are Robert "Bob" Hunt, Geneca Love and Donna Abbott. Other family members include Delores & Larry Davis, Mary "Cookie" & Gordon Thomason, Linda Dickerson, Dee Dee Dickerson, Frances & Tommy Burke as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her close friend Belinda Houston.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Bill, her siblings; Shirley, Charles, Leamon, Marlene, Rita, Linda, and her great-great grandson Grant.
Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home Newburgh Chapel on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10am until service time at 2pm. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Richland.
