Vernon Owen Seddon

Vernon O. Seddon, 93, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on March 28, 2021. He was born in Evansville, Indiana to the late John A. Seddon and Olga J. (McCaslin) Seddon. "Vern" graduated from Reitz High School, Class of 1946, and served in the U.S. Army as a medical technician in Korea. He was a member of IBEW Local 16 and the Free Masons. Vern was a long-time square dance caller, well known in the tristate area. He received a commission of Kentucky Colonel, and was a member of the Blue Grass Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy and Arnold; sister, Dorthea, and his first wife, Jeanette Garrett Seddon. Vern is survived by his wife, Mary (Patterson) Vickers Seddon; children, Karen Seddon, Steve Seddon (Patti) and Kelli Seddon-Burris (Roy); grandchildren, Kirk and Kara Seddon, Garrett Seddon (Celty), and Royce and Mason Burris; 3 great-grandchildren; step-children, Angie Vickers Rhoades (Timothy) and Anthony Vickers; step-grandchildren, Jeremy and Branden (Liz), and 3 step-great-grandchildren. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers or gifts, a donation may be made in honor of Vernon Seddon to the American Cancer Society.
