

Walter “Rod” Culiver, 80, of Newburgh went to be with the Lord surrounded by family on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. He was born April 4, 1941 in New Harmony, Indiana, to the late Woodrow Wilson and Elsie (Campbell) Culiver.
He graduated from Central High School in 1959 and worked at Alcoa for over 39 years. Rod enjoyed family, church, and travel. He was a man of integrity and honesty, influenced by his participation in football and the Boy Scouts. He was a Christian man and was a member of Creekside Baptist Church in Evansville.
Rod is survived by his sweetheart and loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth “Libby” Culiver; son, Scott Culiver (Beth); daughters, Lisa Russell (Greg) and Noriko Maitland (Aaron); daughter-in-law, Kelly Culiver; brother, Carl Culiver; sister, Kathy Carlisle (Rick); sister-in-law, Judy Sanders (Jerry); brother-in-law, Gary Bohnisch, Sr.; grandchildren, Andrea Lampkins (Ross), Rick Culiver (Elizabeth), Mackenzie Greenwell, Melanie Bozsa (Andrea Wirth), Rod Culiver (Teddi), Adam Culiver, David Russell, Ryan Miller, Collin Culiver (Ashleigh), Hunter Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Scott Russell, Ben Taylor, Lisa Maitland, and Jake Maitland; great grandchildren, Delaney, Theo and Davis Culiver and Violet Lampkins, and 12 nieces and nephews.
Rod was preceded in death by his son, Rick Culiver; in-laws, Milton Sr. and Alyene Terry; brother, Larry Culiver; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Bohnisch and Mary Culiver, and brother-in-law, Milton “Scrapper” Terry, Jr.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. Tony Henderson, with a private family burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
