Walter M. Schneider

He graduated from Memorial High School where he was an all-star in football and basketball. Walter was offered a full ride scholarship to Notre Dame University but instead chose to stay in Evansville to care for his parents. He was a union steward for Local 808 for many years. Walter loved hunting and fishing, was a huge horse racing fan, enjoying Ellis Park where he had also worked as a guard. He loved his family and cats.

Walter was preceded in death by his wife Eilene in 2011 and son, Steven Schneider in 1971.

He is survived by daughter, Annette Heck; grandchildren, Rachell Brown, Laura Weese and Daniel Heck, and great-grandchildren, Nalah Brown, Gabriel Weese and Isaac Weese.

A Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Father Joseph Ziliak with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the funeral home.
