William (Bill) Joseph Nickrand, 69, of Newburgh, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a courageous fight with lung disease.
He was born August 2, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Saint Timothy Middle School in 1964 and graduated Lutheran High West in 1970. He went on to graduate from Michigan Tech in 1974 with a degree in chemical engineering. He spent 10 years working in the refining industry and the rest of his 44 year career working in industrial water treatment. He won many awards in sales throughout his career and was recognized for his contribution to the industry on multiple occasions. He retired at age 66 and enjoyed time with his family and his hobbies. His favorite hobbies included; ham radio, building electronic kits, supporting all Detroit sports teams, and spending time with his family.
Bill met his loving wife, Sue, in June 1974 and they married six months later. They have been happily married for 47 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue; daughters, Hope Roth-Burns (Jeff) and Jennifer Martin (Scott); son, William Nickrand (Lindsey); grandchildren, Chrizney Roth, Chloe McCoy (Kameron), Joseph Roth, Hannah Martin, Aiden Nickrand, Addison Martin, and Sydney Nickrand; great grandchildren, Talon and Nash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father, Jarvis Joseph Nickrand; mother, Muriel Harland Ray Nickrand, and sister, Diane M. Reichenbach.
Bill was a lifelong Christian and was actively involved in several faith communities including The Walk to Emmaus, several different small groups, and leading Sunday school classes. Most recently he was an active member of Aldersgate U.M.C.
Bill is greatly missed by many and will be remembered for his wisdom, his wit, and his unique sense of humor.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 5130 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, Indiana officiated by Rev. Jim Clark. Friends may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2021 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, Indiana and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
