William Rodney Wilkerson

William “Rodney” Wilkerson, 70, of Newburgh, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. He was born June 16, 1950 to the late John William and Maxine Wilkerson.
Rod retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 30 years in Newburgh. He absolutely loved sports, the Chicago Cubs and was an avid golfer. He coached and devoted a lot of time to Newburgh Junior Baseball for many years. He loved being involved with his grandson’s sports and activities. Rod was a mobile notary and enjoyed helping people by going to their homes or the hospital. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with a big group of family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh.
Rod is survived by sons, Lance Wilkerson (Kim) and Ryan Wilkerson; grandson, Cal Wilkerson; longtime companion, Karen Miller, and brother, Mark Wilkerson.
A Memorial Service will be 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2020 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261 officiated by Pastor Mike Claypool. Friends may visit from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
