Adolph Bakutis, 92, born September 6, 1922, on the south side of Chicago, passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, July 3, 2015, after a long fight with a difficult disease. Beloved husband of Lorraine nee Halderman for 8 years. Preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Margaret Evelyn nee Alexander. Cherished father of Margaret Ann (Bruno) Sadowski, David (Panorea) Bakutis and the late Susan (Michael) Sim. Dear step-father of Debbie Halderman, Richard (Laura) Halderman and the late Susan Mazurek. Loving grandfather to Steven (Kristina) Sadowski, Alexander Sadowski, Antonis J. Bakutis, Dimitri Bakutis, Jessica (Tom) Mahler, Jason Vasquez and Tiffany Blacklidge. Fond brother of Sally Hochwarter.
Buck lived in Oak Lawn for 48 years. He was an Army Veteran who fought in the front lines of Germany during WWII earning the Purple Heart. He was a Past Worshipful Master Mason, member of the Eastern Star holding several offices, Elks Club, and lifetime member of several veterans’ organizations.
Buck was a kind, gentle and loving man who will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him!
Visitation: Tuesday, July 7, 2015, Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral: Wednesday, July 8, 2015, First Methodist Church, 10000 Central, Oak Lawn. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. at the church with the service at 11:00 a.m.
Interment: Beverly Cemetery, 12033 S. Kedzie, Blue Island
