Alan A. "Uncle Al" Vojtech, age 83, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Al is survived by his brothers and sisters, Jack Vojtech (Verna), Ken Vojtech, Mary Lou Zajac (Joseph), Joyce Pignotti (Joseph), Don Vojtech (Theresa), Joseph, and William Vojtech (Bonnie) and his brother-in-law, James Mulligan III (Patti). He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Vojtech, his brother, Robert Vojtech, and his sister, Bernadette "Bonnie" Vojtech.
Al was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He is additionally survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
A man of service, Al was a teacher both in Boston and later Chicago. He cared deeply about environmental issues, and will be remembered for his generosity, authenticity, intelligence and sense of humor. Family and friends meant the world to Al, and his passing leaves a great void in the world to all who knew him.
A visitation for Al will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Al's honor may be made to the Sierra Club or Greenpeace.
