Andres L. Flores

Andrés L. Flores - esposo dedicado, padre de ocho y abuelo de veinte, bisabuelo de siete - falleció el 24 de diciembre de 2022 a la edad de 86 años. Aunque estábamos desconsolados al verlo partir , fue llamado por los ángeles a nuestro Señor en Nochebuena.

Andrés nació de Herminia López y Andrés Sr. en Degollado , Jalisco, México y emigró y se estableció en Chicago, IL, donde crió a sus ocho hijos. Trabajó en la planta de confitería de Brach durante más de 25 años.

Desde muy joven amaba los campos abiertos y los animales que cuidaba en el rancho de su familia. Le encantaba cuidar sus jardines y sus largas caminatas. Era un aventurero y muy trabajador y transmitió esa fuerte ética de trabajo a todos sus hijos. Amaba la música, el olor de los jardines, sus viejos autos antiguos y las risas de sus nietos.

Se casó con el amor de su vida, la madre de sus hijos y compañera de más de 60 años Socorro Flores. Después de retirarse de Brach's, su propósito se convirtió en sus nietos y ellos eran todo su orgullo y alegría.

El velorio para Andrés se llevará a cabo el Lunes 2 de Enero de 2023, de 3:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn. La Misa de entierro Cristiano tendrá lugar el Martes 3 de Enero de 2023 a las 11:00 AM en la Iglesia de San José, 7240 W 57th St, Summit. Entierro privado.

Andres L. Flores - dedicated husband, father of eight, and grandfather of twenty, great grandfather of seven - passed away on December 24, 2022 at the age of 86. Although we were heartbroken to see him go he called by the angels to our lord on Christmas Eve.

Andres was born to Herminia Lopez and Andres Sr. in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico and immigrated and settled in Chicago, IL where he raised his eight children. He worked at Brach’s confectionary plant for over 25 years.

At a very young age he loved the open fields and the animals he cared for in his family ranch. He loved caring for his gardens and his long hikes. He was an adventurer and hard worker and passed that strong work ethic to all his kids. He loved music, the smell of the gardens, his old vintage cars, and the laughter of his grandkids.

He married the love of his life, the mother of his children, and companion of over 60 years Socorro Flores. After retiring from Brach’s his purpose became his grandkids and they were all his pride and joy.

A visitation for Andres will be held Monday, January 2, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn. Mass of Christian Burial will occur Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 7240 W 57th St, Summit. Interment Private.
