Andrew Hunt was born on March 16, 1943, to the late Lacy Sr. and Priscilla Hunt in Marked Tree, Arkansas. He later relocated to Chicago, IL, where he resided in the Bronzeville neighborhood, known to all Chicagoans as the “Low End”, where he attended Wendall Phillips High School.
In 1963, Andrew enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving until 1971. During his military service, he reconnected with Toledo, whom he married on July 15, 1967. He knew that she was the love of his life when he took a ribbon from her hair during their younger years. After serving in the military, Andrew worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. Once retired, he spent 8 years working at Alliance Security Company, as a security guard.
Andrew was a devoted family man. He was known to always look out for his loved ones. His favorite pastime was watching television, and he had an affinity for old black and white movies and often enjoyed watching WWE wrestling with his brother, Harold and his great-grandson, Milton. He also enjoyed listening to old school music, discussing the different artists and he loved to dance. In his most recent years, he enjoyed spending quality time with his great-great granddaughter, Promise, she was definitely the apple of his eye.
Andrew loved to travel to family reunions, and he especially enjoyed traveling to South Bend, Indiana, where he spent time with his brothers. Frequent phone calls kept him, and his brothers connected. He cherished spending time with family and every encounter with a loved one held immense significance to him. He always gave loving and caring advice, and he was the protector of our family.
