

Anita Gervase, née McPheron, passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Anita was a resident of Alsip, Illinois. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Albert Gervase and was the loving mother of John (Lisa) Gervase and Joseph Gervase; cherished grandmother of Sydney; and proud great-grandmother of Willow. She is also survived by her dear brother, Thomas “Bud” McPheron, and was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Irene McPheron; her sister, Joyce Strouse; her brothers, Gerald and Gordon McPheron; and her beloved faithful fur companion Lord Stanley ("Stosh").
Anita found great joy in the simple things that made a house a home. She loved cooking for those she cared about, tending to her garden, and sewing. She also treasured traveling with her husband, Albert, especially their trips to Tennessee and Florida. Above all, Anita will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and her infectious laugh-a laugh that could brighten a room and will remain a cherished memory for all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL on September 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Chapel Service will take place at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL on September 10, 2026, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL.
Anita’s warmth, laughter, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
