

Anne M. Shunko, nee DeVivo, age 91, beloved wife of the late Alex John Shunko, passed away on November 10, 2015. She was born on January 8, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late Nicola and Jennie (Dalto) DeVivo. Anne was a resident of Lansing, IL at the time of her passing.
In 1944 she married Alex John Shunko. Together they had seven daughters: Janet (Howard) Huntington, Joanne (Steven) Falkenthal, Patricia (Michael) Buckley, Pamela (the late William) Biesen, Cynthia (Craig) Jacobsma, Christine (Michael Foster) Roth and Alexis “Ellie” Shunko.
During WWII, Anne worked as a solderer at Doolittle and Company in Chicago, building radios and signals used by our armed forces. In the 1970s, she put that same skill to use when she worked for Federal Sign and Signal in Blue Island, IL.
Anne loved to crochet; her baby sweaters, afghans and slippers were legendary in her family.
She was preceded in death by her 9 siblings: Rocco (Evelyn) DeVivo, Grace (Jack) DeVivo Walsh, Concetta “Hattie” DeVivo, Anthony (Helen) DeVivo, Joseph (Adele) DeVivo, Nicholas (Verna) DeVivo, Michael (Toni) DeVivo, Florence (Raymond) DeVivo Rausch and John (Carol) DeVivo.
In addition to her seven daughters, she is survived by 13 grandchildren [Alex (Angela) Huntington, Jennie (Steve) Regal, Andrew (Julie) Huntington, Janice (Jason) Hinkledire, Susan (Richard) Price, Tracie (Julius) Gambino, Jason Brandon (deceased), Joseph (Jennifer) Brandon, Mathew Biesen, Emily (Gabi) Meszaros, Katherine Biesen, James Roth, Amy Roth], 16 great-grandchildren [Molly Huntington, Martin Huntington, Emma Regal, Grace Regal, Jared Regal, Alana Huntington, Amy Jane Huntington, Thomas Gambino, Nicholas Gambino, Logan Brandon, Lilly Brandon, Ramona Meszaros, Ingrid Meszaros, Abby Brandon, Madelyn Keilman, Olivia Keilman] and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Sunday, November 15, 2015, 3:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral Monday, November 16, 2015, 9:45am from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn to St. Cajetan Church, 2445 W. 112th St., Chicago, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
