Annie Lee Redmond

In the summer of 1962, Annie married John Henry White of Lexington, Mississippi. The following year, they celebrated the birth of their only daughter, Annie Mae White. In the years that followed, John and Annie would expand their family with two loving sons, John Henry White Jr. and Willie James White.

Annie and John relocated their family to Chicago, Illinois in 1968 where Annie eventually joined the Chicago Board of Health as a Dental Hygienist, where should remain until her retirement, 37 years later.

During her time in Chicago, Annie remarried Yaw Nsiah and gave birth to the youngest of her children, Kwabena Nsiah.

Annie attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church on East 115th Street in Chicago, IL for over two decades where she served on the Usher board and made long lasting friendships.

Annie departed this life peacefully at her home in Chicago, IL on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dora and William, three sisters Arista Redmond-Brooks, Maud Eva Phillips and Christine Crayton, brother Willie James, first husband, John Henry White, grandson Carlyle Strong Jr. and great-granddaughter Destinee White.

She leaves behind her four beautiful children, Annie White-Harris, John White Jr., Willie James White and Kwabena Nsiah, her brother William Redmond Jr., nine grandchildren, Juanita White (Taylor, Rylee), Ashton White (Tamil, Daeshawn, Kennedi, Chexx), Latanya White (Tylinn, Madison, Anna, Londyn, Kamryn, Caiyden, La'lani), Dion Hall (Mason), Shante White (Zy'Nyah), Janeasha White, Daneasha White (Noah, Kaylee), Marcus White and DaQuan White, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, Armoni White, longtime partner Earvy (Spooky) Lee Williams and a host of loving family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Following the visitation, a chapel service will take place at the same venue for immediate family only from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
