Anthony J. (Tony) Caruso, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025.
He was held closely in love and prayers by his immediate and extended family and a large circle of dear and loyal friends, colleagues and neighbors.
In addition to his loving wife, Gayle, and devoted daughters, Cara Caruso Richmond (John Richmond) and Kelsea Caruso (Adam Barlock), Tony “Papa” leaves behind his precious grandsons, Jacob Caruso Richmond and Griffin Anthony Barlock.
The devoted son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Mary Ann Caruso and thoughtful brother of the late Gloria Loveless, Tony is survived by his caring nephew Kenneth Czosnowski (Diana).
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Tony was a retiree of the Chicago Police Department after over 40 years of service which included U.S. presidential and high-ranking individual security detail and other community policing and security assignments.
A man of faith who loved his family, friends and his ‘Sweet Home, Chicago’, he will be forever treasured and remembered for his kind heart, undeniable charm and generosity.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, IL 60453 from 11:00 am until the time of the chapel service at 1:00 pm. Tony will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery during a private ceremony.
