Arthur will truly be missed. He was part of the Stewart family for 46 years. Alice truly loved Arthur. It  was a love that you will never understand if you have not experienced it before. Please keep Alice and the Haris family in your prayers. Arthur, Bertha, Adrienne, Lisa, Xavier and Bria will missed you. I new Arthur for 44 years, although he sometime talked tough but he was a consistent visitor to friends in the hospital, never missed a funeral of his peers, he was a good father to Chris. My daughter Lisa asked him and Alice to keep him so his mother could work. In Arthur a softy 
was born because he loved Chris like a son. In closing he loved me and my family also. With love Bertha Lee. R.I.P Arthur.

When visiting Arthur, and Alice, he would always be sitting on the deck, or sitting in the doorway, or across the street on the sidewalk, getting some sun.

Arthur will be missed, GOD knew that his work was done and he needed to come home to rest.

Arthur Lee Harris was born June 3, 1944 in Lowndes County, Alabama to the proud parents of Chap and Mattie Harris who both preceded him in death.   Arthur confessed to Christ at an early age and joined the New Bethel Baptist Church where the entire family worshiped.    Arthur was a strong influence to all of his siblings, in fact they looked up to him.  Arthur was the third of eleven children.   He leaves to cherish his memories a loving companion of 46 years, Alice Smith who was always by his side no matter what the situation was, four brothers; Sammie Lee (Beatrice) Harris, John (Ora) Harris, Booker T. (Victoria) Harris, Roosevelt (Barbara Jean) Harris,  five sisters; Matilda (Eddie) Hunter, Annie Pearl (Martin) McCall, Rosie (Henry C.) Harris, Martha (Rogers) McCall, Ruby (Phillip) Green.  Arthur had one brother that preceded him in death Siam (Ida) Harris.  Arthur also leaves six children Myrtis Taylor, Tyrone (Felecia) Baldwin, Darnell Hunter, Arthur Lee (Vanessa) Hunter, Michelle Hunter, Andre Hunter.  Arthur also had one son who preceded him in death Curtis Knignt.  Arthur was the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one on the way.  He was also survived by large extended families which were Alice's relatives, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and very, very close friends who simply adored him.  He will truly be missed.

I just found out about the passing of your beloved father. I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one, especially a girl losing her Daddy is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. I am proud to be the grandson Tyrone Baldwin Jr. I have always loved and cared for my grandfather, just for the simple fact of him being a great man to me and my father. To my family, I love you all truly. I am sorry I couldn't be there with you all to celebrate the home going. But my prayers are with each and everyone of you. Dad I have gotten older but I have never forgotten all te times I came to visit. over the years we had been closer than in years before. I have come to see you and we talk and laughed at things you would watch baseball while I talked. You would say huh and then go back to looking the game. It was alright cause just to be there was ok with me. Living so far away. I got to see a different side of you and Im glad for it. A few years ago God put on my heart to get close to your family those you dont see that often. I did just that and because of it. I got to spend what was the last of your days with us. I thank God for giving me that time. Now you are free. Free from pain that only you had known. Thank you for Loving my wife and kid. I will Love You Forever and A Day

I will miss you Dad. I will even miss calling you dad, because to me you are the only dad I had when mine past away.  You never said a lot. But, to me when you did you made me laugh.   You never said no to me. I'm so glad that we spent so much time together over Christmas you got to meet you great-granddaughter for the first time and she really clicked with you. Just watching you with her was good for my soul. 
I just keep thinking about the times You and Alice welcomed me into you home it was good really good. In your later years I saw a kinder man that was not afraid to tell the woman he lived his life with I Love You, that's the Arthur I knew and Loved.  I will miss laughing at the things you would say and wishing you was still around. Know you are resting knowing needs to wonder what you want or what you are saying it all ever and the pain is gone away.

 Iam proud to say that I am Cree Baldwin and the grand daughter of Arthur Harris and I loved my grandfather very much although i didnt get to spend very much time with him and he got to see his great granddaughter Kassi Baldwin who also loved him but I know he is in a better place and I am going to miss him very much.
