Muth, Benjamin Robert Bernard loving husband of Hannah nee Kim. Devoted son of Robert & Cheryl nee Draski. Dear brother of Arielle (Mike) Otterson, Jacob (Amanda), Dominic (partner Tasheba). Caring uncle of Piper & Elliot. Cherished son-in-law of Chris Kim & brother-in-law of Paul & Esther. Fond nephew & cousin of many. Proud dog daddy of Sookie and Lucy.
Ben spent his early years as a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout & the Order of the Arrow. He remained proud of his Scouting achievements and his Scouting family.
He was an honored member of the last class of graduates of Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary in 2007. His years at Quigley were some of his fondest memories.
He worked for PACE Systems Inc. as a Senior Premise Security Engineer. He spent the last decade working various technology jobs around the city. He was a hard worker and loved and respected by his clients and co-workers.
People close to Ben will always tell you that underneath the “rough exterior” was a heart of gold. That soft heart was on full display this past Christmas when he bought his nieces a 5-gallon bucket of sand so that they could excavate the rocks out of it. Unfortunately, this was done in the middle of his mother & father’s living room. Though he inherited the stubborn, sometimes “thick headed”, traits of the Muth men it’s important to remember that Ben always went out of his way to take care of his family and friends even when he complained about it first.
There is not enough space to say what an impact he made on everyone’s lives, but especially for his beloved wife Hannah. He was the love of her life and showed her there is a better world out there and she was deserving of it. He was her light and happiness. For those who knew and loved him, memories of Ben will stay in their hearts forever.
The family will be holding an evening visitation on Friday, May 22nd, from 3:00–8:00 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home. A funeral service will also take place that evening, with the time to be updated once confirmed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Benjamin’s honor may be made to support the Illinois Railway Museum or University of Saint Mary of the Lake and Mundelein Seminary. Please use the links below to access the donation pages on their websites.
