Betty L. Feltes

Betty Feltes (nee Reeves), age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her residence in Avanti Senior Living, Shenandoah, TX. Born on March 10, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio, Betty was the daughter of the late Floyd and Ethel Reeves and one of thirteen siblings. She married the love of her life, Jack Feltes, on December 23, 1952, and they shared many wonderful years together before his passing on August 15, 2000.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Susan (Mike) Dollear, and her two sons, Richard (Annette) Feltes and Tom (Mary) Feltes. She was a cherished grandmother to Michael, Julie, Tom, Laura, Kristen, and Theresa, and a proud great-grandmother to eleven wonderful great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her loving siblings, Patty, Carolyn, Delano, and Alfred.

Betty was a longtime resident of Oak Lawn, IL, was a devoted St. Gerald’s Catholic Church parishioner and proud member of VFW Post 5220 women’s auxiliary, where she formed lifelong friendships.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of Avanti Senior Living, whose kindness and care meant so much to Betty in her final years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 10:00 a.m. at St. Gerald Church, 9310 S. 55th Court, Oak Lawn. A private family viewing will be held prior to the mass on Saturday at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
