Byron was born in St. Louis Mo. and later moved to the West side of Chicago, where he attended Harrison High School and accepted Christ at The Potter House.
Byron was a social butterfly who loved life and lived it on his own terms. He danced to the beat of his own drums, a man loved by many, who touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with, in some way. Byron was very charismatic, he had a kind heart, and an extremely big presence and personality. You knew when Byron was in the room, rather he came in dancing, announcing his arrival or simply giving hugs and kisses to everyone. He was very fun to be around!
Byron believed in the importance of family and treasured the moments spent with the people he loved. Rather through conversation, a laugh, a helping hand or simply being there he had a way of making people feel like they mattered. Although his time with us has come to an end, his love and memories will continue to live on through family, friends and everyone whose life he touched.
As we say good-bye, let us continue to remember and honor the memories and love he gave us. Those things will forever remain as we are blessed to be able to see Byron's legacy and greatest accomplishments remain as he leaves to mourn his 2 children Darius L. Tate (Satrice) and Monique Keys, 7 grandchildren- Darius D. Tate, Deja D. Tate, Dionte L. Tate, DeAndre L. Tate, Jermell Smith, MacKenzie Jett, Madiyson Jett and 1 great granddaughter Skylar K. Tate-Milton. He also leaves to mourn his only sibling Bryant J. (Tangela) Tate, 3 nephews, 2 great nephews, 7 aunts and a large host of cousins and friends.
