Charles Hildebrand

Charles was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (née Fickett) Hildebrand, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Charles was the loving father of Joseph and Daniel Hildebrand; cherished "Papa" of Nikkie Hildebrand, Kristy Hildebrand, Holly (Frank) Cerny, Nicholas Hildebrand, Brittney and Brooklyn; and proud great-grandfather of Charles Cerny. Beloved brother of Frank (Carol) Wronowski. He was also blessed with many loving nieces and nephews and was a treasured friend to so many whose lives he touched through his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

Charles and Patricia especially enjoyed their many memorable trips to Las Vegas, where they loved trying their luck at the casinos, visiting their favorite gaming establishments, and simply enjoying each other's company. Those vacations became some of their most treasured memories, filled with fun, excitement, and countless moments of happiness that Charles cherished throughout his life. Even after Patricia's passing, those special memories remained close to his heart.

An avid outdoorsman, Charles found great joy in fishing and spending time outdoors. He took pride in crafting his own fishing lures and worm harnesses, a hobby that reflected both his patience and creativity. Whether casting a line on the water or sharing stories of past fishing adventures, he found happiness in life's simple pleasures.

Charles was a devoted and passionate Green Bay Packers fan who never missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved team—especially when they faced their longtime rivals, the Chicago Bears. He also loved playing Bingo and always looked forward to the excitement and camaraderie it brought.

Of all the roles Charles held throughout his life, none brought him greater pride than being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be forever cherished.

Charles will also be deeply missed by his faithful and beloved Bichon Frise, Zoey, whose companionship brought him great comfort and joy.

Though Charles leaves behind hearts filled with sorrow, he also leaves a legacy of love, laughter, dedication to family, and countless treasured memories that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday with Chapel Services at 10:00 a.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
