

Daniel Marshall Fisher, age 69, of Surprise, AZ, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026. He is a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on October 14, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Evanston and Florence Fisher. He was the ninth of eleven children born to this loving union.
Daniel attended Chicago Public Schools and, following graduation, proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he held several positions, including working at a radio station, before discovering his true passion in education. Dedicated to shaping and inspiring young lives, Daniel built a meaningful career as an educator and eventually became the principal of a high-risk school, where his leadership and commitment made a lasting impact on countless students and families.
Committed to lifelong learning and personal growth, Daniel earned a Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University.
Daniel was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Fisher, Richard Fisher, Steve Fisher, Mignonette Harris, Edna Horton, and Christine Fisher- Brown.
Daniel leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Rosalind Harris-Fisher; daughter, Chaquinta Fisher-Hill; grandson, Jamarion Doctor; granddaughter, Desiree; sisters, Joyce Martin of San Diego, California, Florence Fisher of Norcross, Georgia, and Rosemary Harris (Marshall) of Memphis, Tennessee; brother, Marvin Fisher (Della) of McKinney, Texas; one aunt, Etta Bingham of Chicago, Illinois; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, former students, and colleagues.
Daniel never met a stranger. His larger-than-life personality, warm spirit, and genuine love for people created a legacy that will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation Tuesday, May 19th, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St. Oak Lawn, followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery, Chicago. (708) 636-1193.
