I just heard today of Dan's passing from Mary.  So sorry for your loss and will keep you and the kids at the top of my prayer list.

There are no words to describe the pain and void in our lives with the loss of Dan.  Chris, Jake, and Jenna we love you to the moon and back.  We will be right by your side as we all struggle through this unbelievable tragedy that I keep hoping is a terrible dream.  We will carry on with our traditions in the yard, we will tell funny stories, we will try and keep the pool crystal clear like he did.  We will laugh every time someone goes in and out of the kitchen and say,  Dan was getting around to fix that door. The list endless.  We will never let him fade away from us.  He was amazing man and as I know he was the best husband and dad to you guys. I will miss having someone to argue with as me and Dan were very much alike.  I will miss his conversations that he had to explain with such detail. I will miss the love he had for Ashlie and Billy, the friendship and bond that him and Dan had. He will be missed in so many ways. Please take comfort in knowing that so many friends and family are surrounding you and the kids.

I had the privilege of meeting and serving with Dan in the United States Air Force, while we were assigned to Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany in the late 80's.  One of the most funny, caring and hard working men I have met in my life.

I have met so many people throughout my life that were from Illinois, but, none more proud than he.

The world has lost one of the most amazing men that has walked on the surface.  May God watch over Dan's family, friends and soul.  He will be eternally missed.

Dan will be greatly missed and we are all saddened by his passing.Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
