David R. Schnelle

David R. Schnelle, 81, beloved husband of Alice, nee Hachaj, for 57 years; Loving father of Jeffrey Schnelle and Janet (Brian) Kmiec; Cherished grandfather of Morgan, Zackary, and Olivia Kmiec; Fond fur daddy of Bailey; Dear brother of Robert (Suzanne) Schnelle; Proud uncle of many nieces and nephews; Friend to many. David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laura Ann Schnelle, and his fur babies Benji and Champ. David loved muscle cars and was the proud owner of a 1965 Oldsmobile 442. He loved dogs, John Wayne, and country music, specifically by Lorrie Morgan and Doug Stone. David dedicated over 30 years of service to Commonwealth Edison before retiring. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and PAWS Chicago.

Visitation will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, on October 16, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Prayer Service will take place at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, on October 17, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:15 am.

A Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady At St Germaine Catholic Church, 9711 S Kolin Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453, on October 17, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

A Committal Service will take place at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803, on October 17, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
