Donald E McCarthy, born 1933 to John and Kathleen (nee O’Reilly) McInerney, peacefully passed July 2, 2021. Donald is survived by his sister, Kathleen (McCarthy) and her husband, Vincent McInerney, sisters-in-law Patricia McCarthy and Elaine McCarthy-Clifford, along with three generations of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. “Uncle Don” served proudly in the United States Army in the Korean War, dedicated decades of service to his local American Legion Club, and was a devoted Eucharistic Minister at Queen of the Universe, St. Cajetan’s and Smith Village. What he is most lovingly remembered for, however, is his unwavering devotion to his family and the love he gave others. While leaving us with fond memories of him, Donald joins his four brothers, Jack, Edward, Michael, James, and Raymond “Tommy” in eternal rest.
Please join in celebrating his life on Saturday July 10, 2021 from 8:30am until 10:00am Blake-Lamb Funeral Home 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn followed by a procession to St. Cajetan’s Catholic Church 2445 W. 112th St, Chicago, for 11:00am Mass. Burial immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, to memorialize Donald, donations may be made to St. Cajetan’s Church or "Emily’s List" at Smith Village.
